Brainstorming patterns.

Brainstorming patterns.

Quote of the day:

Aim at nothing and you’ll succeed.  (Anonymous)

First of all, spring is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I saw this pattern on a Russian site and thought that I would try it.  Yikes, I thought.  How do I join them? how do I do this and that?  Take a look:

So I was thinking, okay, I’ll crochet these circles first, with ecru, big ball, from Michael’s, probably number 10 thread, using number 2 hook (1 1/2 mm. hook).  And I only buy from Michael’s when I can use a coupon for 40% off and more.  It sure helps keep my costs down.  Otherwise I would have to spend 1 1/2 hrs. by bus and skytrain to downtown Vancouver just to get cheaper crochet thread.  I love the store: Dressew, on Hastings St. Vancouver, BC.  They also sell tons and tons of fabric and buttons; it’s a Homer Simpson drool store.

Okay, I digress.  These Russian patterns are great but how the heck do you join everything together?  Plus the number 10 thread doesn’t make the circles as big as this picture.  Hmmm.  So I just measured myself and figured out how many circles I would need to cover the front of my body at the largest point.  Hm, it was a measurement competition between my breasts and my tummy.  Yuk.  And I used to have the measurements of: 35/ 24/ 36.  But of course I have aged to some degree: almost 60 yrs old now.  (sigh)Yeah, 40s/40s/40s measurements.

I meditated on how to join these circles together; a brainwave hit me!  I’ll show you next time.
